PERSPECTIVE ARCHITECTURE OF DIGITAL PHOTONIC COMPUTER

Modern computationally intensive tasks of mathematical physics require continuous increasingof the performance computer equipment used for their highly efficient solution. However,at present, development electronic components is slowing down due to limitationsof technological production and operational processes. One ways overcome computerproductivity growth crisis digital photonic computers (DPC). In paperwe suggest a promising DPC architecture, which consists functional subsystem, data streamsynchronization switching subsystems, photonic-electronic interfaces exchangewith external devices. We describe principles each subsystem. The subsystem aset devices that provide 64-bit floating point arithmetic logic operations (according theIEEE754 standard), implemented as linear pipelines with processing least significant bits forward.The synchronization provides single rate flow among various functionaldevices DPC, combined into computing structure. According topology computingstructure, controls streams at stage programmingor during according conditional transitions. For exchange between theDPC devices, we technology serialization low-frequency parallelchannels deserialization high-frequency serial channels. give theoretical evaluation structures on similar thestructures problems concerning special matrices. showthat DPCs, clock frequency, can exceeds performanceof microelectronic by two more orders magnitude.
